This sentiment was completely handwritten (!) inside a Christmas card I received via USPS:
Every time a hand reaches out to help others … that is Christmas.
Every time someone puts anger aside and strives for understanding … that is Christmas.
Every time people forget their differences and realize their love for each other … that is Christmas.
May this Christmas bring us closer to the spirit of human understanding.
Closer to the blessing of peace.

Be the Christmas seasoning – help, understanding, and love.
Wishing my dear readers all the best during the holidays whatever traditions you observe, wherever and however you celebrate!
Peace.
A note of interest: I was going to interleave “MERRY CHRISTMAS” all caps with “happy holidays” lowercase but it isn’t pretty and it isn’t cute.
CHRISTMAS + holiday = ChHoRlIiSdTaMyAsS
which looks like a feisty Festivus salty under-your-breath swear to save when you’re in for a long sweaty checkout line. You know. Be the seasoning!
Merry Christmas Viva and Mr Viva! The poem carries a beautiful message. I hope it is ok that I re-posted it to my FB. How I try, and often fail, to live.
Blessings!!
May the true spirit of Christmas – love, sharing, gratitude, inclusion, peace – be with you this week and throughout 2020!
